Service was friendly during slow time... around 3pm. Lunch salad (hot chicken) was delicious and the chicken was super moist.
Came out to celebrate an anniversary the food was great definitely plan on coming by to try out their happy hour I'd have to say it's a four and a half out of five stars the staff was great the decor was good and being able to watch them and that huge Open Flame was amazing
Definite jam for an afternoon happy hour or an evening meal anytime. Western Lenexa is popping with choices but if you want a great vibe and great food, then check out Sierra Grill. Reservations are recommended but you don't *have* to have them, but hey, you can always see if a table is available when you're out and about. High ceilings and an open-style kitchen makes for a chic atmosphere, with a nice long bar that had open seating. The happy hour menu has some fab choices, such as the pork belly tacos, garlic fries with Parmesan, & a phenomenal roasted tomato & goat cheese dip. You can even skip the main menu and just blend a few apps at happy hour for a dinner! But if you want a touch more, then Sierra Grill has some great specialty dishes. The grill is always working and turns out a solid steak, whether ribeye or other, and the braised beef short rib is absolutely worth a try. I'm a sucker for the steak & frites, mostly because I'm a juvenile, but it's fabulous cuts of beef splayed over a crispy bed of fries. I've also sampled their grilled salmon, served up on mashies, and it's spectacular! Pricing is a touch steep, because hey, specialty dishes, and the service is good but not great. The food is definitely worth the visit, though, and when coupled with drink specials it's a great spot. Check it out!
Stopped in here after too long of a wait at Silo Modern Farmhouse down the road. It was good food, but quite expensive! The goat cheese poutine was delicious, the steak was cooked as ordered, and the apple dessert dish was intriguing. The halibut was quite salty, but still good. Ended up being close to $180 for dinner but we always like to get an appetizer and dessert, so maybe that is on us lol. Great food, but probably wouldn't come back.
Food - Excellent Service - Excellent Ambiance - warm @ the bar by the wood burning fire Got an email for their Prime Rib sandwich, they were out but subbed the Brisket sammie. Brisket, provolone, onion rings (thin) and a tasty bbq sauce puts this up against the Z-man, seriously. First bite of the M&C had me thinking like Darth Vader, "Impressive, most impressive!" This is a seriously creamy Béchamel mac and cheese, with a sprinkle of green onions and good tasty bread crumbs. This is IMHO, BETTER than the M&C at the French Market as their's has shredded cheddar on top and not as much flavor and their m&c isn't bathing as much in the sauce. Based on the several times I've been here for brunch, lunch, and lunch, even during off hours (with like maybe 3 - 5 customers dining), the food is excellent. Lunch and Brunch prices are "reasonable" for the amount of lingering inflation as of 10/2024, dinner pricing will set you back a 'more pretty penny.'
I couldn't wait to go back to this establishment after an elite event a while ago. I took a friend and my 3 y/o daughter there for lunch. They do in fact have a kids menu, which had me surprised since this is a higher end business. I ordered my daughter the fancy kids Mac n cheese, she is a fry nut so she thoroughly enjoyed her fries that accompanied the Mac. My friend ordered the steak sandwich. She absolutely loved the garlic fries. She kept raving about them so I had to try them. They were outstanding! I ordered the special which was a prime rib sandwich with bbq sauce and onion rings on it. It was delicious but messy! The onion rings were thin like onion straws. As a side I went with something that I knew this place could make amazing but other places can't- Brussels sprouts! They did not disappoint. This is a nice quiet restaurant. Our server was absolutely amazing. In fact he was so amazing my 3 year old asked if he could babysit her sometime. Such a cute memory. I wish they had one of these in the northland as it's off the beaten path for me but I will venture back as much as I can. It's my new favorite place!
Amazing service, great drink selection. Very large portions and specials with quality ingredients. Love the tall windows and creative lighting with drapes. Great for lunch today and beautiful art .
I had never heard of Sierra Grill before, so I'm glad I got to check it out! The restaurant isn't huge but they do have a patio and the staff were very nice! We got to taste a bunch of food and I'm glad they gave several options so I'll know what to get next time! Started with the chicken spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious! I definitely went back for 2nds (and 3rds lol). It's only offered in happy hour and I definitely will be getting that next time! The Kali Rib was also really good! It was juicy and the marinade definitely helped! We also tried the salmon crostini and meatball. Those were just okay in my opinion. I like the salmon but just not paired with the crostini and I didn't care for the mozzarella on the meatball. The last thing we tried was the wood fire grilled ribeye. This came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I loved the mashed potatoes and the meat was tender. The house sangria tasted like it had fresh fruit in it. Didn't get a picture cause I drank it too fast! lol
Absolutely love Sierra Grill, locally owned by a chef and entrepreneur. Amazing steakhouse, watching the wood-fire grill in action is mesmerizing. It's beautiful and the flavor in the food comes to life. The steaks, fresh seafood, braised short ribs, I've not had anything I didn't love. Scratch kitchen so everything is fresh and hand made. Friendly bartenders and servers. On a nice day the back patio outside is super relaxing. The Happy Hour 3-6pm has crazy great deals on drinks and appetizers starting at $6. The Sunday Brunch is freshly chef prepared and my favorite is the steak & eggs or shrimp and grits. A casual dinner with family, date or anniversary, business dinner, birthday or just catching up with friends - it's approachable but also upscale! Extensive wine and bourbon menu, so many crafted cocktails to explore. And they had a special bourbon barrel pick from Knob Creek the other day. I do recommend reservations because they get very busy. Lunch, dinner, Happy Hour & brunch.
